Summer Shades is a collection of beach parasols and towels inspired by the vibrant colors and cultures of Rio de Janeiro, California, and Sri Lanka!
Drawing on my passion for travel and design, I created each parasol to be a work of art that celebrates the beauty of these three iconic destinations.

A Design Challenge
Creating the Summer Shades collection was a labor of love, but it also presented a unique design challenge.
Each parasol is made up of eight triangular panels.
To create a seamless and cohesive design, I had to carefully design each panel to fit together perfectly.
This was a meticulous process that required a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of pattern design.
The result is a collection of parasols that are both stylish and functional.
The intricate patterns are eye-catching and the vibrant colors are sure to turn heads.

A Celebration of Local Flora and Fauna
The Summer Shades collection is not only a celebration of summer, but also a celebration of the local flora and fauna of each region.
Each parasol features intricate illustrations of plants and animals that are endemic to the region it represents:
1. Rio de Janeiro: this parasol is a celebration of the city's exuberance, with green and blue tones, tropical plants, toucans, banana leaves, cashews, and pitangas.
2. California: this parasol captures the laid-back vibes of the West Coast with its shades of pink and blue, iconic palm trees, orchids, and the elegant Calypte Anna hummingbird.
3. Sri Lanka: this parasol is a riot of orange hues, featuring exotic fruits, tropical plants, and the stunning Ceylon Magpie bird.
